Venues
When we are in a different venue, accessibility information specific to that venue can be found on the Facebook event page for the show.
Most of our shows are currently held in the Arts Court Atelier Studio and the Arts Court Studio Theatre (2 Daly Avenue, Ottawa). The floors, doors, and washrooms in Arts Court are designed for wheelchair access.
Accessible Directions for the Arts Court Atelier Studio
67 Nicholas is the accessible entrance for Arts Court. Then take elevator B to Level 1, then turn left to Elevator A to Level 2, and head right down the hall and the Atelier is the door at the end.
Accessible Directions for the Arts Court Studio Theatre
67 Nicholas is the accessible entrance for Arts Court. Then take elevator B to Level 3, and the theatre is to the right.
COVID-19 Safety
All attendees are screened for COVID-19 symptoms and face masks are required (except while eating or drinking, and for performers while they are on-stage). Face masks are provided at the door for those who do not have one.
Note that, for the safety of our community, ULPC has measures in place, including screening policies, that may be more protective than those required by the City of Ottawa or Province of Ontario. We put these measures in place for the protection of our community, and to ensure that our events are as safe and accessible as possible. Thank you for helping to keep our community safe!
Stage and equipment
A microphone and mic stand will be set up at the venue. There is step-free access to the stage. The host or technician will be able to help poets adjust the mic as needed.
Show format
There will be a 5-10 minute intermission around halfway through the show. At ULPC, you are welcome to take care of yourself however you need to throughout the night. Whether you need to step out for a moment and return when you’re ready, wiggle your body, or have a stretch, this is a space where you are welcome to honour your needs and come as you are.
Pricing & Ticket Purchase
Admission is Pay-What-You-Decide and tickets can be purchased by cash or card at the door.
